Government of Bihar signed an MOU with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India on 23rd April 2010 for the implementation of the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) in the State. The State Government is mandated to constitute and strengthen various structures and bodies for proper implementation of the scheme. Subsequent to the signing of MOU, the State Government constituted the State Child Protection Society (SCPS), a State-level body to implement, coordinate and monitor the implementation of the scheme by registering the body under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Registration No. 2143) on 11th October, 2011. Therefore, the SCPS is a registered body under functioning under the Directorate of Social Welfare of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Bihar.
